Makeup to Go was founded in 2005 by me, Tania D. Russell. I am a working media makeup artist to this day having worked on everything from print advertising, to commercials, to magazines of all kinds, to celebrities. While I still love being on set, along my career I discovered that another of my true passions is teaching others. What began as a side project quickly became a successful series of 1-on-1 lessons, workshops, teaching in accredited and recognized schools, and the industry respected Makeup to Go Blog. I have been very fortunate to have helped many emerging artists begin their own successful careers, and I hope to continue to help many more.
Makeup to Go Blog focuses on makeup and makeup artistry from the standpoint of working media makeup artists. Makeup to Go! covers product reviews, how-tos, and industry events but we also discuss art and influences, makeup history, and the Art of Being A Freelance Makeup Artist™.
Unless otherwise noted, all photos of people are absolutely the work of Tania D. Russell, as are many of the product images. Guest blog posts may feature work of the guest artist.

Media makeup artist refers to an artist who works on projects for Print, Web, Television, Video, and/or Film, for publication and/or broadcast.
The title is a nod to the song “Lyrics to Go” by A Tribe Called Quest 😉 It’s just an upbeat name that reflects the belief that at the end of the day, makeup should be about creativity, expression, and fun.
