Welcome to my world! Makeup to Go was founded in 2005 by me, Tania D. Russell. To this very day I am a working media makeup artist and I have worked on everything from print advertising, to commercials, to magazines of all kinds, to celebrities, and I am still a working on-set artist to this very day.
Makeup and the makeup industry are way different than they were even 5 years ago. Yet much of makeup education for professional artistry has not changed in decades. This is where I come in. The goal of Makeup to Go’s educational services is to educate artists, and aid in the development of makeup education that is in alignment with the increasingly diversified beauty landscape.
Makeup to Go Blog focuses on makeup and makeup artistry from the standpoint of working media makeup artists. Makeup to Go! covers product reviews, how-tos, and industry events but we also discuss art and influences, makeup history, and the Art of Being A Freelance Makeup Artist™.
Unless otherwise noted, all photos of people are absolutely the work of Tania D. Russell, as are many of the product images. Guest blog posts may feature work of the guest artist.

Media makeup artist refers to an artist who works on projects for Print, Web, Television, Video, and/or Film, for publication and/or broadcast.
The title is a nod to the song “Lyrics to Go” by A Tribe Called Quest 😉 It’s just an upbeat name that reflects the belief that at the end of the day, makeup should be about creativity, expression, and fun.
