It’s the Holidays! The holidays means so many different things; fabulous food, time with family, tradition, spectacle… and for the makeup fanatic = holiday makeup sets. Every year I go crazy buying 5 times more makeup than I normally would because of these delectably seductive little sets. Whether you keep them yourself, or give them as gifts they’re just the perfect little beauty Pick Me Up… here’s the best of the bunch for 2009 (IMHO
)
Stila 24kt Luxe Lipglaze Set –
My #1 by far… one of my favorite beauty products, beautifully packaged… I will be giving away a grip of these, I already know it.
Hot on the heels of Stila’s set are a few great ones by Korres;
Korres Sugar Plum set – which has a lip balm, a lip gloss and an eyeshadow all in Korres’ popular and highly wearable Plum color…
Korres Cherry Oil lipgloss trio – very wearable colors in a not too sticky, not too light, naturally derived formulation.
Korres Lip Saver roll – I ran into these Sephora exclusives when I was in a store and I immediately bought 5 to give away and one to keep. Naturally derived tinted lip moisturizers/balms… just enough color but never too much. Love.
Nars ‘I Want You’ lipgloss set – not to be outdone, Nars introduced a set of mini versions of some of their most popular colors. Yep, I bought one of these two… (they’re the perfect size for a travel kit!)
I’m a bit of a lipgloss fanatic, and I think it makes a great gift because lipglosses are easy; they’re more adaptable to a wider range of skintones than – say – trying to gift a blush or an eyeshadow – and even the most makeup-o-phobic woman will wear a tinted lipbalm. HOWEVER, there are other great sets available besides lipcolors…
Nars also has several exclusives for Sephora including a mini set of the Multiples highlighters, the Temptation set (Super Orgasm Blush and Orgasm nail polish), and a couple of new, exclusive Artists palettes…
Urban Decay announced the follow up to it’s amazing and popular Book of Shadows set with Book of Shadows 2 this September. Good luck finding that one at this late date, however, they do have;
for those who missed on Book of Shadows 2. Urban Decay is not where I go for my safe neutrals (although they do have great ones). UD’s strength is in strong, bold color and both of these sets fit the bill nicely. (and a little birdy tells me that Book of Shadows 3 will be out in early 2010… shhhh…)
Last but not least, for the serious Eyeliner enthusiast – we present the MotherLode
Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Eyes Collector set – Every color you could possibly want – from the tame to the outrageous – of one of the best eyeliners on the planet. A simply amazing set. In fact, if anyone wants to give this to me…
These are just a few of the Holiday wonders that will be available this season. So keep your eyes open, and Happy Shopping.
